Reliability Technician
PTS is looking for an experienced Reliability Technician to join our team. The Reliability Technician is responsible for data acquisition and interpretation of compressor, turbine, pump and other process equipment at gas cryogenic treating and natural gas transmission pipeline facilities.

Pay Range: $51.50- $59.00 per hour
Schedule: Day Trips on a 4/10 schedule
Travel Expectations: Assignment call for up to 75% of travel time to the different support areas (Midland/Odessa and Carlsbad area, including gas plants in the 200 mile radius from these cities).
Per Diem: N/A (Travel Expenses eligible to Reimbursement Process)
Responsibilities:
- Perform quarterly vibration routes on centrifugal equipment, pumps, compressors, motors, fans, etc.
- Provide technical support identifying machinery problems.
- Provide analyst data review of new equipment during start-up and troubleshooting.
- Assist root cause failure analysis on failed equipment.
- Provide finding reports on predictive maintenance routes.
- Assist field maintenance and operations teams with preventative maintenance best practices and procedures.
- The team requires an "analyst" technician that will be utilizing $150,000 worth of our clients' data collection analysis equipment.
- A 1/2-ton pickup will be required along with expertise in using our clients' equipment is needed.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Mechanical background, compression industry
- Years of experience: 5-10 years in the industry
- A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
- Proven knowledge in all mechanical processes and prime moving machinery including reciprocating compression performance of gas engines, compressors, centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, and vertical and horizontal NGL/Crude/hydrocarbon process pumps.
- Work experience in using portable SKF hand vibration data collectors (or equivalent) is required.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
- Basic computer skills such as: creating corrective maintenance work requests are required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a professional manner is required.
- The ability to modify communication style to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance is required.
- Take initiative and are proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.

- Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
- Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.

- Routinely react to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
- Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.
- Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
- Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
- The ability to take callouts and work overtime is required.
- Must live within 1 hour of reporting location.
- Ability to travel domestically, up to 75% of the time is required.
Additional Experience/Qualifications (not required but a plus)
- Vibration Analysis Certifications
- Reciprocating engine fuel/control/emissions analysis.
- Reciprocating compressor analysis using Windrock/Recip Trap analyzer (or equivalent) and report generation.
