Rotating Equipment Planner

Location: *Gonzales, La (onsite and remote work)
Duration: 1 year could go longer

Travel: Some travel to Baytown, TX and Martinez, CA
Per Diem: When traveling
Schedule: 8hr shifts during the planning stage ad 12 hour shifts during turnarounds.  
LOCATION: Flexible. California, Texas, & Louisiana are the main regions. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and mechanical systems

Ability to read and understand P&IDs, fixed equipment design packages, and technical specs.

Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.

10+ years' experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages, pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and associated systems

5+ years' experience as a Machinery Planner.

Previous experience building execution work packages with detailed work plans including safety matrix, picture, P&ID, bill of material, etc.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop detailed work plans for all machinery and rotating equipment scopes, including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and associated systems

Review and validate turnaround work scope with engineering, operations, and reliability teams

Conduct field walkdowns to verify job scope, access, and required resources

Create job packages including procedures, drawings, permits, materials, tooling, and labor requirements

Identify and coordinate required parts, materials, and specialty tools to ensure availability prior to execution

Estimate labor hours and craft requirements for each work activity

Support development of the turnaround schedule by providing accurate durations and sequencing logic

Interface with vendors and contractors for specialized machinery work (e.g., inspections, overhauls, alignments, balancing)

Ensure all work plans comply with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements

Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and pre-turnaround planning meetings

Provide technical support during turnaround execution and assist with troubleshooting as needed

Capture lessons learned and update job plans for continuous improvement

Support Management of Change processes, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.

Provide contractor field management in all outage phases for assigned contractors, including safety, timesheet verification, field oversight, change orders, and QC verification.
