Position Overview:
The Project Manager II is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of major construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with project specifications. This role involves providing both administrative and technical leadership for one large-scale project or multiple small to medium-sized projects, while coordinating and managing resources, timelines, and client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the overall construction effort to ensure adherence to design, budget, and schedule requirements. This includes regular interaction with client representatives, union officials, and subcontractors.
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of company personnel working on assigned projects, ensuring the completion of work on time and within budget.
- Approving and authorizing all personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, change orders, and other related project documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with company, client, and project-specific policies, procedures, and standards, while upholding core organizational values.
- Maintaining comprehensive project logs and documentation to track progress, decisions, and project milestones
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (4-year program).
- A minimum of seven years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least two years in a Project Manager role.
- Experience with Caltrans projects is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, technology, equipment, and industry best practices, along with familiarity with union jurisdiction and labor agreements.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with Hard Dollar software, Vista by Viewpoint ERP System, and HCSS applications is preferred.

Compensation: $100k-$125k
