Senior Hydrogeologist

We are seeking a skilled Senior/Principal Hydrogeologist to join our expanding team in our Seattle Washington office, who will focus on hydrogeological investigations and contaminated site assessments and provide valuable expertise in groundwater protection.

Desirable qualifications include a deep understanding of contaminated groundwater assessment, characterization, and remediation techniques, along with an extensive knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks like MTCA, RCRA and CERCLA. Proficiency in addressing various contaminants commonly encountered on contaminated sites, such as petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated compounds, metals, PFAS, PCBs, dioxins and furans, and other common compounds is also expected. Responsibilities

  • Conducting hydrogeological assessments, including groundwater flow modeling, aquifer characterization, and water resource evaluations.
  • Designing and overseeing field investigations, such as groundwater monitoring well installations, aquifer testing, and data collection.
  • Analyzing and interpreting hydrogeological data to assess groundwater contamination and develop effective remediation strategies.
  • Assessing and modeling the fate and transport of contaminants in groundwater systems.
  • Conducting groundwater sampling and analysis, evaluating groundwater quality, and assessing the potential for vapor intrusion.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hydrogeological considerations into environmental assessments and remediation plans.
  • Managing and implementing groundwater remediation projects, including the selection and design of appropriate remediation techniques.
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on regulatory compliance related to hydrogeology and groundwater management pursuant to the requirements of MTCA, RCRA, and/or CERCLA.
  • Mentoring and providing technical leadership to junior staff, promoting their professional development in hydrogeology.
  • Engaging with clients to understand their hydrogeological needs, preparing proposals, and delivering high-quality reports and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Valid professional license in Geology (LG) or Hydrogeology (LHG) in Washington State/Pacific Northwest
  • 15+ years of experience in hydrogeology, groundwater assessments, and groundwater management.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrogeological principles, groundwater flow modeling, aquifer characterization, and groundwater sampling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to groundwater management and environmental remediation.
  • Proficiency in planning, managing, and conducting field investigations and data collection activities.
  • Ability to develop sustainable groundwater management plans and remediation strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical report writing and client/stakeholder presentations.
  • Project management experience, including budgeting, resource allocation, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and contribute to business development. 

 

 

The pay range for this Washington position is $120,000.00- $145,000.00 per year; based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
