The Senior Standards & Specifications Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain pipe and valve specifications for pipeline, refinery, power plant, and chemical plant construction.
- Evaluate Standards and Specifications to promote safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that conform to industry standards, good engineering practice, and are consistent with Products risk tolerance.
- Collaborate with experts, departments and resources throughout the company and industry on the evaluation and development of standards and specifications promoting safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions in conformance with industry standards, good engineering practice, and consistent with Products risk tolerance.
- Collaborate with experts, departments, and resources throughout the company and industry to develop high quality standards that consistently reflect Products commitment to safety, reliability, and performance.
- Provide technical support and guidance to Project Managers, project teams, Operations, Maintenance, Field Engineering, and other stakeholders for assistance with standards interpretations, standards selection, correct application of codes, project-specific specifications, standards waivers, and any other questions or support stakeholders need related to Products standards.
- Assist Supply Chain Management with reviews and analyses of manufacturer and supplier quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science is required; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree is preferred.
- Understanding of plant piping design, codes, and specifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in refining, chemical processing, pipeline, or related, industries.
- Knowledge about valves used in pipeline, processing, chemical, and refinery operations.
- Familiarity with applicable industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISA etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work both independently and with others in the organization.
- Available for occasional travel
