The site QC Manager is responsible for reviewing the scope of work, Job Specifications, Codes,
and standards, to have a full understanding of what quality requirements of the job are. And to
plan the necessary inspections and monitoring of the project accordingly. Any clarifications
shall be addressed with the Project Manager for clarity.

The site QC Manager has the same responsibilities as the QC Inspector except he or she shall
also take the administration lead to assure that the Project Quality is within the Specifications
and Standards as set forth in the Contract Documents.
Client utilizes the Quality Control Inspector for many aspects in all disciplines of the project,
whether it be civil, concrete, structural, rotating, and fixed equipment, mechanical, coatings-
(paint, pipe wrap, etc.), and even insulation.

Listed below are the disciplines a Site QC Manager may encounter and will be
responsible for on a Project:
1) Concrete/grout work- Form, rebar, and placement inspections-such as air
entrainment, slump, and cylinder samples.
2) Structural Steel- Monitoring testing, of all fabrication/ welding steps, bolt
inspections, vertical and horizontal checks, and fireproofing checks.
3) Stationary Equipment - Foundation, vertical, and horizontal checks for
equipment such as vessels, drums, electrical cabinets, and prepackaged
equipment skids. Closure and vessel internals installation inspections.
4) Rotating equipment- Foundation, Placement, and level checks, as well as
grouting, coupling and rotational checks.
5) Above ground piping- Welder testing, Hydro/ pneumatic testing, witness all
fabrication/ welding steps, set up NDE, review film, verify paint and
insulation, final piping inspection.
6) Welding- Verify WPS's, development of WPQ's, and Welding Rod Control of
all welding activities whether permanent or temporary. Submittal of welding
and welder data to client. Update weld log and keep accurate weld maps.
7) NDE - Manage project NDE requirements RT. PT. MT. PT. and PMI
8) Code Vessels-Repair / Installation of ASME code vessels per Haskell ASME
code manual.
9) Material verifications- Check MTR'S, Positive Material Identification (PMI's),
Hydro-testing of valves, proper check in and storage of materials. 1)
10) Non-Conformances - Nonconforming items need to be identified and
documented.
11) Final turn over Packages- The development of turn over packages is one of
the most important responsibilities of the QC Manager (project). The QC
manager will work with Document Control personnel to assemble turnover
documents in accordance with customer requirements and as referenced in
QMS procedure.

Qualifications
* 5-7+ years' minimum experience.
* AWS-CWI minimum
o API-570 certification welcomed.
* Should be familiar with Standard codes- ASME Sec. IX., B31.3, AWS D.1.1, AISC
o Strong understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards.
o Familiar with NDE techniques- RT. PT. MT. PT. UT. and PMI
* Good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
* Bluebeam proficiency a plus.
o Weld tracking
