PTS is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join a leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting. As a Senior Project Manager, you'll use your expertise in Texas highway and roadway projects to help grow our Texas practice while overseeing the design and delivery of large TxDOT PS&E projects. You'll take the lead in evaluating proposed projects to ensure they're reliable, efficient, cost-effective, and meet the highest quality standards.
Project Management
- Act as Project Manager or Roadway Task Lead for large design projects, overseeing quality control and successful delivery.
- Coordinate with design teams, subconsultants, and partners to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and up to technical standards.
- Review and seal projects, while supervising and guiding other engineers' work.
- Handle invoicing, track budgets, and monitor performance using project management tools.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, and work closely with agencies to define requirements and secure approvals.
Business Development
- Help shape our growth strategy in Texas by spotting opportunities, building partnerships, and leading key pursuits from start to finish.
- Draft and negotiate proposals with clients and reviewing agencies.
- Represent the company at client events, trade shows, and conferences.
Staff Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and support junior staff in their professional growth.
- Provide technical expertise on PS&E design projects.
- Contribute to complex, high-visibility projects as a hands-on technical resource for the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE License
- 15 years highway/roadway design experience
- TxDOT Precertification
- Experience leading large PS&E projects for both rural and urban highways and roadways.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills that bring out the best in others.
- In-depth knowledge of TxDOT requirements, design and planning procedures, and PS&E plan production.
- A track record of winning work-developing new clients, maintaining strong relationships, and leading successful project pursuits and proposals.
- Ability to review work for accuracy and completeness, while keeping projects on time and within budget.
- Solid understanding of client expectations, budgeting, proposals, invoicing, and collections.
- Technical expertise in roadway design, with a strong grasp of multiple design methods.
- Experience with design software such as Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
