Senior Project Planner 
 
Location: Epes, Alabama
Project Location: Epes, Alabama 
(Eligible candidates based in Texas, or North Carolina may work on a travel based schedule) 
Pay Rate: $60.00-65.00 per hour (Based on Experience) 
Per Diem:$149.00 per day  
Duration: 12 months (may extend)  

Responsibilities:

Using Primavera P6 software perform the following:
  • Create, update, and analyze project engineering, procurement, and construction schedules and schedule reports.
  • Facilitate and guide planning sessions, where key project stakeholders plan and discuss the major project tasks, interaction with other tasks, and the duration and timing of such tasks
  • Review each schedule activity with project stakeholders to confirm logic and duration, including equipment fabrication and delivery.
  • Resource load discreet schedule activities, based on estimated hours. Ensure overall discipline task durations are workable and achievable given resource constraints.
  • Develop and maintain detailed procurement vendor logic schedules.
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction execution schedules, work packaging, turnover, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Incorporate construction contractor schedules into the overall master schedule.
  • Develop and issue the project master baseline schedule, analysis, and basis.
  • Interact with engineering, procurement, construction contractors and other project stakeholders, obtaining activity progress. Update the project schedule, usually weekly.
  • Analyze contractors' schedule updates, review critical path, review schedule performance indicators, review schedule variances from last update and baseline. Identify deficiencies in contractor's schedules and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely schedule reports, including variance analysis, critical path, summary, and detailed schedules.
  • Actively participate in project review meetings, providing clear and accurate schedule assessment. Provide proactive advice to drive successful project completion.
  • Incorporate approved project schedule changes into project schedules.
  • Organize multiple projects within a portfolio or program.
  • Create and maintain schedule reporting, using Power BI
  • Perform schedule what if scenarios and analysis.
  • Evaluate schedule analytics using Acumen Fuse.
  • Develop the basis and perform schedule risk analysis.
  • Ability to be solely responsible for all planning and scheduling duties on a project or portfolio of projects
  • Support the project development process with scheduling needs as they arise.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and personnel both verbally and written
  • Support progress management process and other project controls reporting requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned in order to ensure project success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering and construction cost and scheduling
  • Proficiency in Primavera Project P6 (Required) , Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access) and Microsoft Project and other standard scheduling applications
  • Must have experience completing Scheduling with Planning 
  • Must have Construction and Procurement experience 
  • Understanding of cost and schedule performance concepts and scheduling concepts such as critical path analysis and task relationships 
  • Ability to summarize detailed schedule information appropriately to support management reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a team player and have the ability to work well with all levels
  • Self-driven, proactive and analytical approach to problem solving


Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart

10 years experience in an Engineering, Construction, Equipment or planning role.
EPC scheduling experience
Experience in planning, scheduling, and execution of greenfield assignments

Travel/Work Schedule: 
 
50 hours per week (x5 10's)
Contractors generally work about 10 days straight , then travel home twice a month for a 4 day duration.
Able to travel as necessary. Expected travel is approximately 30% but may change dependent upon business needs.
Ability to be deployed to respective site.

Working Conditions
Able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment, and construction office, site, or plant Environment
Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Able to work onsite and on call as project timelines require.
Ability to be deployed to respective site.

Physical Requirements

Able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA.
Able to climb multiple flight of steps as needed as
Able to work on computer screen format for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
Able to walk construction sites at various stages of completion and weather conditions
