Systems Integrator

Hybrid | Multiple U.S. Locations

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Systems Integrator to design, develop, and support integrations between manufacturing systems and enterprise applications across multiple production facilities. This position plays a critical role in connecting operational technology (OT) with information technology (IT) to improve data flow, automation, and business intelligence.

This is a hybrid opportunity that combines remote work with periodic travel to manufacturing facilities and office locations. Candidates should reside within commuting distance of one of the company's major operating locations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain integrations between manufacturing systems, enterprise applications, databases, and cloud-based platforms.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable integration solutions.
  • Develop reliable data exchange processes using modern integration technologies and industry best practices.
  • Design robust error handling, monitoring, and recovery processes to ensure highly available and maintainable integration workflows.
  • Evaluate technical feasibility, estimate project timelines, and provide recommendations for new automation and integration initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues affecting manufacturing operations and provide timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, IT, and manufacturing teams to support strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, software lifecycle changes, and automation trends while recommending improvements where appropriate.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
  • Travel approximately 20–30%, primarily during the first year, to support manufacturing facilities, project implementations, and commissioning activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 5+ years of experience developing automation solutions and system integrations within industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with manufacturing control systems and SCADA platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs and AVEVA System Platform (or comparable industrial automation platforms).
  • Strong programming experience with:
    • Microsoft .NET / C#
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • REST APIs
  • Experience integrating enterprise business systems with operational technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP or similar enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, communications protocols, and field devices.
  • Experience integrating laboratory instrumentation, manufacturing equipment, or other industrial devices.
  • Understanding of statistical process control (SPC), regression analysis, process capability studies, and data analytics.
  • Exposure to AI-powered development or automation tools.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide manufacturing technology initiatives.

Work Environment

This role includes a combination of office, remote, and manufacturing plant environments. Candidates should be comfortable working around industrial equipment, production machinery, elevated work areas, and varying environmental conditions while following established safety procedures and utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
