Job Title: TAR Warehouse Manager 

Location: Mandan, North Dakota

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Through August 2024 with possible extension for next TAR in Dickinson, ND. 

Pay rate: $40 - $60/hr. (based on candidate experience/background)

Per diem: Yes (for non-local candidates) 

Mob/Demob: Yes (for non-local candidates)

Schedule: 40-50 hours/week outside of TAR, when TAR is approaching and started schedule will go to 7-7 on a 6, 12-hour days. 

  • Additional details for schedule: Candidate will have 1 trip per month outside of TAR. 

Industry: 

  • MUST HAVE Warehouse Experience in a management function, (i.e. lead, supervisor, manager, etc.) 
  • Oil/Gas, Refinery experience is highly recommended. 


Overview:

As the Turnaround (TAR) Warehouse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient planning, organization, and execution of all activities related to the Turnaround process within the refinery. This position demands a highly organized and strategic individual who can manage the warehouse operations effectively, ensuring that all materials and resources required for TAR are available in a timely manner. The TAR Warehouse Manager will be responsible for overseeing inventory control, procurement, logistics, and coordination with various teams to support the successful execution of TAR projects.


Key Responsibilities:


TAR Planning and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with TAR planning teams to identify and understand the material and equipment requirements for upcoming TAR projects.
  • Develop comprehensive TAR warehouse plans, ensuring optimal storage, organization, and accessibility of materials.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Implement and maintain an effective inventory control system to track all TAR-related materials and equipment.
  • Regularly conduct inventory audits to identify discrepancies, obsolete items, and reorder needs.
  • Work closely with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of inventory and monitor stock levels to prevent shortages.

Procurement and Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source and acquire TAR materials, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable services.

 

Logistics and Distribution:

  • Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate the efficient transportation and distribution of TAR materials to the work sites.
  • Monitor transportation schedules, address any delays or issues, and ensure that materials arrive on time.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols within the TAR warehouse, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Implement and uphold security measures to safeguard warehouse assets and personnel.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a team of warehouse personnel, providing clear direction, training, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment, promoting accountability and excellence.

Top Skills Needed:

  • Hands on, solution driven candidate.
  • Work history proving excellent leadership in Capital Projects or other large projects (due to volume of this site/role. 
  • Person who understands the processes of a warehouse and knows when to speak up or support the business. 
  • SAP experience in a warehouse or refinery environment. 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a refinery, chemical, oil/gas, or industrial setting.
  • SAP experience is PREFERRED but not a requirement. 
  • Strong understanding of TAR processes and project management principles.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
