PTS Advance is seeking experienced Technical Field Advisors to support power generation and natural gas projects near Midland, TX. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting construction oversight, equipment installation verification, commissioning, and QA/QC activities within a heavy industrial environment.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of relevant field experience and a strong background supporting industrial mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and structural installation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify pre- and post-pour anchor bolt slab foundations and electrical grounding installations
- Support heavy industrial turbine exhaust stack structural reconstruction, assembly, and erection activities
- Provide oversight of heavy industrial exhaust ducting assembly and installation
- Verify motor and fan assembly foundations, alignment, and mounting installations
- Support installation and verification of skid-mounted control systems, auxiliary piping, electrical, and instrumentation systems
- Review and verify panel-mounted control and analytical devices including tubing, conduit, cable tray, and instrumentation installations
- Work closely with construction personnel and plant operations teams to support commissioning and startup activities
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of field oversight activities and installation verification
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards and industry best practices across multiple disciplines
- Communicate effectively with onsite teams, engineering support, vendors, and offsite stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in a Technical Field Advisor, Field Engineer, Construction Oversight, or similar industrial field role
- Background in power generation, natural gas, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial projects preferred
- Strong understanding of mechanical, structural, electrical, and instrumentation systems
- Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities
- Knowledge of QA/QC processes and construction verification practices
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Strong commitment to safety culture and safe work practices
- Ability to work in field environments and coordinate with multiple disciplines and contractors
