Pay Rate: $25-29/hr + OT (40-60 hours per week)
 
Per Diem: Available for candidates based in Illinois

Overview:      

This is a travel-based position requiring frequent work at solar project sites in Michigan. The Bilingual Field Administrator can be based in Wisconsin, Illinois, or Michigan, but the majority of work will take place in Michigan.

The ideal candidate MUST be fully fluent in Spanish—including speaking, reading, writing, and capable of translating technical terms and documentation, and comfortable working onsite in a field environment.. This role is critical in ensuring clear and accurate communication between English- and Spanish-speaking workers, particularly during safety orientations, meetings, and documentation processes. The ability to translate technical content in real time is essential. Candidates who do not meet this fluency requirement will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate safety orientations and meetings for Spanish-speaking workers when a bilingual foreman is unavailable.
  • Accurately translate paperwork and technical documents from English to Spanish.
  • Assist with general administrative duties, including time card corrections and documentation management.
  • Support union personnel and field teams with communication needs.
  • Work onsite in job trailers, with potential assignments at multiple project locations.
  • Participate in meetings and provide real-time translation for foremen and leadership teams.
  • Learn industry-specific acronyms and terminology to ensure clear communication.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written) is required.
  • Strong ability to translate technical and safety-related content in real time.
  • Previous experience in construction, renewable energy, or a field-based administrative role is preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite at project locations in Michigan or Illinois.
  • Comfortable working with union personnel and foremen.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must pass a technical skill exam to assess Spanish proficiency.

Additional Details:

  • Location: Two upcoming solar projects in Michigan (about 45 minutes apart); candidates in Illinois will receive per diem.
  • Duration: Expected to be 1-3 years, with an initial commitment of at least 1 year.
  • Work Hours: 40-60 hours per week, with overtime eligibility.
  • Expenses: Travel reimbursement available if the site is more than 70 miles away.
