Position: Business Development Manager - Chemical Sales

Start Date: ASAP Preferred 

Salary Range: $150K - $200K


Job Specification

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop new customers and business opportunities
  • Participate in activities with new customers to develop and enhance business relationships
  • Increase sales and increase profitability
  • Maintains and reports sales information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicates customer requirements and our opportunities to Chemical Division Sales Director
  • Understand customers end markets, sales strategies
  • Continually communicating customer needs to internal counterparts to ensure timely and accurate solutions to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Increase industry awareness and knowledge by attending appropriate industry conferences and company meetings.

Candidate Specification

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited school (preferred)
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in domestic/local sales or import sales within the chemical industry
  • At least 5 years of Monomer and Solvent sales experience at a chemical distribution company (e.g., Matrix Chemical, Plaza Group, Univar Solutions, Mitsui, etc.)
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for business
  • Proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities and convert them into revenue
  • Resourcefulness and persistence in prospecting and engaging potential clients
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Residency in Houston, TX preferred
