Buyer
Responsibilities:
- Purchase materials, equipment, and incidental services with a focus on instrumentation and electrical components.
- Involved in RFQ, bid analysis, negotiation, and partnering to ensure purchases maximize value to the company.
- Seek new practices and methods of improvement
- Create accurate and timely purchase orders and agreements. Ensure transactions are managed in a seamless process from order entry through invoice payment
- Stay current with market conditions, new products, and sources of supply for assigned commodities and keep abreast of new technologies and methods that add value to the purchasing process. Make recommendations to management and users for improvements
- Exercise independent judgment and decision-making regarding Procurement methods and sources, within authority limits as established by management.
- Provide excellent customer service. Continually provide proactive customer service
- Monitor order status, to resolve GR/IR conflicts before payment issues become apparent to the Vendor
- Dialogue with the field Internal Customers, Warehouse, and Vendors/ Contractors to streamline ordering processes and communication, and improve efficiency throughout the MM stream
- Monitor outstanding invoicing challenges to assist in resolution
- Strive to standardize processes, procedures, and techniques to maximize Procurement efficiency, and to maintain a positive relationship with our vendors and customers
- Provide consistent and accurate Procurement guidance to internal customers
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of purchasing experience of Industrial construction (refinery preferred)
- A thorough knowledge of / efficient with SAP software
- Tank construction experience preferred.
Contract Duration: 3 months
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Pay Range: 40-45/hr. DOE
Schedule: 40 hrs. weekly
