Commissioning & Start-Up Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is a one to one and half year assignment to help the Geismar expansion and manage Commissioning and Startup (C&SU) of the new assets. Responsible for oversight of the C&SU process. This role provides functional Operations/CSU expertise and is responsible to manage scopes of work, contribute to C&SU strategies and budgets, and prepare detailed deliverables to support a safe and efficient commissioning and startup. The Operations-CSU Manager will work along side the C&SU Coordinator to maintain overall momentum of C&SU Execution.
The Geismar expansion project is a nominal 250 million gallon per year renewable products plant that is being added adjacent to the existing Geismar renewable products plant in Geismar, Louisiana. In addition to the production process expansion, the project includes the addition of a Wastewater Treatment Unit, Sulfur Recovery Unit and will expanded Truck and Rail capabilities at the Geismar site.
The CSU manager will play a key role in the final stages of the project as we move from Construction to Commissioning to Operations. The successful candidate will have deep Operations Management Experience with Green Field large project C&SU experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the final stages of CSU Phase 2 planning.
* RFO representative for coordinating between construction, turnover, 3rd Party CSU, and Commissioning and Operations.
* Manage Day to Day Issues related to C&SU Execution.
* Work closely with all Coordinators on all interdependencies.
* Ensures adherence to the C&SU Management and Execution Plans.
* Working with Operations Manager and Coordinator, the CSU Manager is responsible for creating staffing and resource plans.
* Reviews status reports prepared by commissioning personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
* Coordinates and/or attends Construction, Turnover, and Commissioning Meetings.
* Supports the Operations Manager and Project Controller in maintaining the C&SU Capital and Expense Budgets.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering or equivalent work experience is preferred.
Preferred Experience: 25-30 years of petrochemical and/or refinery management experience in an Operational or Plant Manager/Director role.
