Responsibilities: 

  • Retrieve mail from construction mailboxes at Admin Bldg. and deliver to appropriate Construction Trailers/offices for distribution
  • Retrieve 'hand-carried' packages from Warehouse and deliver to appropriate Construction Trailers/Offices for distribution
  • Compiling information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and/or services
  • Preparing purchase requisitions and sending copies to suppliers and to departments' originating requests
  • Checking invoices when they arrive in order to verify orders have been filled correctly and goods meet specifications
  • Preparing payables to be sent to corporate office for payment 
  • Scanning and filing and retrieving documents, records, and reports as needed.
  • Creating and completing forms as needed.
  • Operating office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems and arranging for repairs when equipment malfunctions.
  • Reading and analyzing incoming memos, submissions, and reports to determine their significance and planning their distribution.
  • Answering telephones and giving information to callers, taking messages, or transferring calls to the appropriate individuals.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments as needed.
  • Greeting visitors or callers and handling their inquiries or directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of administrative assistant experience in a fast paced environment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe
  • Valid DL
  • Great attention to details and positive mind set 
  • Local to Plaquemine, LA
