We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Advisor/Senior Supply Chain Advisor with a blended focus on buying and expediting materials procurement at its Garyville Refinery in Garyville, Louisiana.
  
Location: Garyville, LA   
Duration: 2-4 months long contract, with potential of up to 6 months. 

 
Responsibilities: 
  • Buying Responsibilities (50%)
    1. Develops contracting and sourcing strategies to establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring optimized commercial terms and service levels.
    2. Leads end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including bid package development, evaluation, and purchase order execution, aligning stakeholder and Supply Chain requirements.
    3. Prepares and negotiates terms and conditions for service and supply agreements; manages rate sheets to ensure competitive pricing across categories.
    4. Conducts benchmarking studies and should-cost modeling to support strategic procurement decisions.
    5. Advises stakeholders on contracting best practices and risk mitigation strategies; serves as liaison with Legal and initiates contract amendments as needed.
    6. Supports category management with supplier development initiatives and contributes to cost savings, cost avoidance, and overall value generation.
    7. Uses SAP, Ariba, and other digital tools to execute sourcing events, analyze spend data, and manage supplier agreements and purchasing activity.
  • Expediting Responsibilities (50%)
    1. Ensures timely delivery of materials and services by actively monitoring supplier performance and tracking open orders through completion.
    2. Coordinates with vendors, logistics, and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery delays, expedite critical items, and maintain optimal material flow to operations.
    3. Performs root cause analysis for late deliveries and implements corrective action plans with suppliers.
    4. Develops, maintains, and reports KPIs related to supplier delivery performance and adherence to promised lead times.
    5. Participates in supplier meetings, site visits, and follow-ups to align expectations and ensure schedule commitments are met.
  • Works closely with warehouse and maintenance teams to identify urgent needs, support turnarounds, and reduce inventory gaps.
  • Manages the flow of communication between vendors and internal departments to proactively address material availability risks and ensure alignment with site schedules.
Requirements: 
  • Two (2) to four (4) or more years of Supply Chain or business-relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in oil/gas is highly prefer
  • Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, Tableau, Advanced Excel, Power BI, and TRACK is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
