PTS Advance is currently in search of an experienced Controller who is ready to contribute their expertise in managing the accounting operations to assist our client located in the tri-valley area. Preferred candidates should have a minimum of 5+ years expertise in finance and accounting, showcasing a successful history of leading teams. Previous experience as a controller is desirable. Proficiency in Construction Accounting Software is preferred. Must be skilled in utilizing analytics to detect patterns and develop effective business growth strategies while mitigating risks. Possess excellent interpersonal skills, capable of establishing rapport swiftly.

Salary $125k -$130K a year
Additionally, this includes overseeing the creation of regular financial reports, maintaining a reliable system of accounting records, and implementing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets while minimize risk. The Controller will also play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of the company's financial results and compliance with both generally accepted accounting principles and international financial reporting standards.
Principle responsibilities:
- Establish, uphold, and implement a comprehensive set of accounting policies and procedures.
- Effectively handle and meet cash and cash-related needs.
- Supervise the functioning of the accounting department, ensuring the development of a suitable organizational framework to accomplish departmental aims and objectives.
- Supervise Risk Management activities, including insurance and bonding.
- Foster the growth of the accounting team by providing coaching, training, and keeping them updated on compliance matters.
Other compliance requirements:
- Ensure that financial statements are prepared and delivered promptly and accurately.
- Oversee the process of creating the annual report for the company.
- Suggest standards or benchmarks to evaluate the performance of company operations.
- Compute and distribute financial and operational metrics.
- Supervise the development of the annual budget and forecasts.
- Determine deviations from the budget and communicate important matters to management.
- Establish a system for generating cost reports for management.
- Offer financial analyses when required, especially for capital investments, pricing choices, and contract discussions.
- Facilitate the dissemination of information to external auditors during the yearly audit process.
- Supervise the levels of debt and ensure adherence to debt covenants.
- Adhere to reporting obligations and tax filings mandated by local, state, and federal government authorities.
