Position: Project Controls Cost Analyst
Location: Sweeny TX
Timing/Duration: Targeting starting this position sometime in January 2026, earlier the better!
Schedule: 9/80 hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Develop project cost forecasts for portfolio of projects based on project schedule and project progress data.
- Support in developing and maintaining the project status reports and performance metrics.
- Coordinate and work with the project engineers, construction managers, and project managers to resolve project cost related issues on their project.
- Participate and assist in the project change management and trend process.
- Interfaces with Accounting, and other Departments to ensure timely processing of project cost in SAP.
- Support Project Controls Cost Manager with implementation of best practice project controls processes and procedure.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5+ of proven experience as a Project Controls Cost Analyst handling portfolio of projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand a demanding, technical, and complicated project execution program; and the ability to communicate issues to a technical and management level audience.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and communication skills.
- Proficient in project budgeting and forecasting processes and procedures.
- Fast learner, self-motivated, and problem-solving team player with strong work ethic.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following process and procedures.
- Proficient in SAP Project System module.
- Must demonstrate Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficient in earned value management system (EVMS), including cost performance index (CPI), schedule performance index (SPI) cost variance (CV), and schedule variance (SV) analysis calculations.
Preferred:
- 5-10 years direct experience in engineering, procurement, and construction leading the cost control function for a small project group.
- Education - (associate or bachelor's degree) preferably in Construction management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Experience with a cost system (i.e., EcoSys) is a plus.
- Owner/Operator experience is a plus.
- Have industry related certifications (AACE, PMI, etc.).
