Cost Control/Estimator
Our client is a leader in performing difficult fast track projects including full EPC project delivery, turnkey construction, retrofits, upgrades, repairs, outages, and maintenance. They provide a comprehensive range of services for industrial plants and facilities in power generation, renewable energy and energy storage, the refinery and chemical industries, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and alternative fuels.
This client is currently looking for a Cost Control specialist/analyst to service an upcoming Turnaround at an LA Basin refinery.
This person will be responsible for:
- Break down project estimate & allocate budgets to a company standard code of accounts
- Set up tracking systems from templates in Excel
- Track and Analyze project cost & progress in Excel and web-based software (EcoSys), daily and weekly
- Cost and progress reports sent out weekly
- Create RFI's and maintain change order logs
- Create RFI/change order estimates with input from Superintendent
- Compile final Change Order packages for approved RFI's
- Attend various meetings with customers
- Subcontract management
- Approve AP vendor invoices in electronic system (pVault)
- Conduct project forecast meetings
- Initiate and submit Customer billings for approval
- Work with Scheduler to update project schedule
- Conduct weekly labor, equipment, and purchase order audits in Excel and company ERP (Viewpoint Vista)
- Oversee Timekeeper execution of duties
- Additional responsibilities may apply on smaller projects where Timekeeper is not necessary
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years' experience in Cost Control or similar role, preferably in construction.
- Strong organizational skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and web-based software applications
- Primavera P6 experience a plus
- Viewpoint Vista and/or pVault experience a plus
- EcoSys experience a plus
- Refinery Time Tracking Software, 'TRACK' experience is a plus
- Must be able to pass required drug, alcohol and background.
