We're looking for an Electrical Designer who's ready to take on a variety of projects across different industries and client types. You'll be part of a collaborative project team, working on everything from early planning to detailed construction documentation.


What you'll be doing:

  • Design a range of electrical projects: schematics, grid layouts, power systems, lighting systems, protection & controls, and site/facility layouts.
  • Create drawings that meet company, client, and project standards.
  • Take on challenging assignments that involve analyzing problems, creating layouts, and making calculations.
  • Update designs, sketches, and redlines as projects evolve.
  • Review reports, drawings, and test data to plan and refine designs.
  • Apply design codes and specifications accurately to meet requirements.
  • Review drawings for quality and ensure tasks stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Handle conduit and grounding layouts, wiring diagrams, relay panel schematics, and volume calculations.
  • Keep project drawings, files, and revisions organized and easy to find.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and the project team to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Jump in and support with other duties as needed.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or a related field with at least 7 years of experience. (Associate degree + 8 years, or 9+ years of progressive design/drafting experience, works too.)
  • Advanced skills with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel. Experience with SmartPlant 3D is a huge plus.
  • Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D design applications.
  • Strong understanding of design systems, calculations, and electrical design theory.
  • Broad knowledge of other disciplines and how they tie into electrical design.
  • Able to use various design software tools to produce quality deliverables.
  • A team player who works well with project managers, engineers, and other designers to resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a sharp eye for detail.
