PTS Advance has a great opportunity in Benicia, Ca. Our client is an engineering firm, established in 1975, and is looking for a motivated individual who is interested in a full-time position with long term growth. This position is temp to perm.  Salary is negotiable and based on experience.  

Essential Duties:
The Finance Manager will have an active role in the day-to-day accounting operations as well as weekly reporting, payroll and month end closing.    

Customer Accounts & Cash Management 

  • Set up customer projects 
  • Generate customer invoices 
  • Post customer collections 
  • Make routine collection calls 
  • Process bank deposits and transfers 
  • Maintain customer resale certificates 
  • Review batches set up by admin assistant 
  • Manage monthly billing forecasts vs actual 
  • Process quarterly sales tax returns 
 

Vendor Accounts Management 

  • Set up new vendor accounts 
  • Purchase office supplies 
  • Resolve vendor discrepancies 
  • Process vendor invoices and disbursements 
  • Manage employee cell phone accounts 
  • Review batches set up by admin assistant 
 

Payroll Management 

  • Prepare time reports for payroll system 
  • Enter and/or review time sheet batches 
  • Enter employee updates 
  • Process payroll 
  • Process payroll tax deposits 
  • Process quarterly payroll tax returns 
 

Month-end Closing & Weekly Reporting 

  • Prepare weekly financial recap 
  • Prepare weekly booked order/invoice statistics 
  • Process end-of-month project manager reports 
  • Maintain all posting journals 
  • Perform all month-end reconciliation and closing tasks 
  • Reconcile all bank accounts 
  • Maintain insurance certificates 

Qualifications Required 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and stay organized
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics GP and SharePoint helpful
