Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Location: Garysburg, North Carolina 

Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Manager, your mission is to manage the daily work schedule and execution of plant maintenance. You will partner with the Corporate Reliability team to implement maintenance methods, work with manufacturing teams to meet production targets, and provide technical expertise to reduce breakdowns and increase efficiency. This role involves leading a team of mechanics and electricians, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Corporate Reliability team to implement maintenance methods and procedures aimed at reducing downtime and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to meet production targets and quality objectives.
  • Provide technical expertise to reduce breakdown occurrences and increase Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
  • Monitor, coach, and hold mechanics and electricians accountable for safe job performance and adherence to maintenance procedures.
  • Direct your team and contractors to effectively handle unexpected breakdowns to achieve production goals.
  • Demonstrate safety and maintenance procedures to new employees and ensure the team completes required training and certifications.
  • Complete employee performance reviews and manage team performance.
  • Review work backlog and weekly work schedules, ensuring efficient and effective work completion.
  • Communicate detailed work schedules and results to management groups, addressing gaps and opportunities.
  • Lead maintenance turnover meetings, communicating safety incidents, schedule updates, production performance, and special instructions to the oncoming shift.
  • Communicate daily results and top action items to plant management during daily morning meetings.
  • Review and ensure compliance with safe work practices, operational excellence standards, and maintenance procedures.
  • Collaborate with Shift Leaders on any safety or environmental incidents involving the maintenance team.
  • Approve time and attendance using the HR Information Management System.
  • Manage the operation, maintenance, and performance of common plant equipment.
  • Enter work requests for emergency breakdowns and observed issues in the electronic asset management system.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage from other shifts/areas for planned/unplanned time off.
  • Maintain the process of storing, organizing, and charging out spare maintenance parts.
  • Work with other team members to proactively manage maintenance costs and drive value through effective spending.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with 5+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-changing manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of experience/education/certifications.
  • Experience managing maintenance teams and supporting autonomous manufacturing teams.
  • Experience with Preventative Maintenance (PM) practices.
  • Proven track record in coaching, mentoring, and developing employees.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams to solve problems and improve reliability.
  • Experience in setting business targets to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Applied working knowledge of time, condition, and predictive-based maintenance processes.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars in a process environment.
  • Working knowledge of Analytical Process Mapping.

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work in environments with temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Able to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial settings.
  • Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address site issues.
  • On-call availability for nights and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, crawling, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely perform essential job functions consistent with ADA requirements.
Travel Requirements:
  • Less than 10% travel to other locations as necessary for training purposes.
