Maintenance Manager

Responsibilities may include but not limited to: 
  • Responsible for providing strong technical guidance and leadership to maintenance and maintenance support staff, including skilled maintenance personnel with regards to safety, quality, efficiency and consistent application of best practices and policies. 
  • Directs the analysis of mechanical and operational problems on plant equipment, overseeing the planning and implementation of corrective action 
  • Coordinates with Engineering staff when necessary to facilitate project completions.
  • Represents the company's position and interest in dealing with outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.    Prepares purchase orders for the acquisition of equipment and services as appropriate.
  • Create, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance program of production including inspection of plant equipment and inventory replenishing system for parts.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance, repair, facility maintenance, environmental, and building security issues are addressed on a timely and proactive basis. Ensure maintenance provides required support to ensure equipment is running at maximum efficiency. Initiate corrective, preventive and continuous improvement opportunities through defined/documented channels and actively participate in developing, implementing and verifying corrective and improvement actions. Control repair and maintenance spending within budget. Utilize the project management system to drive plant projects. 
  • Oversee CMMS and spare parts program
  • Provides engineering support when necessary to facilitate project completions
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed.  If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required shift staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of  company goals.  Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Works collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.  Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
 
 
KEY REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas or Energy environment is strongly preferred.
  • A Maintenance Leadership background with a minimum 7 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing process environment
  • Proven Leadership experience of both staff, contractors and suppliers 
 
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Experience with mixing and blending, and replace burner systems with pumps and mechanical seals. Filtration technologies, liquid/solids and gas/solids separations, gas burner systems, solids conveying systems a plus. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Strong demonstrated experience in RCA and CMMS. Previous experience managing significant budgets for maintenance and capital programs
