Operators (Contract)
Our client was founded with the principle that renewable fuels should come from non-food based sources that are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. The Company is upgrading and modifying an existing oil refinery to produce renewable diesel fuel, propane, and naphtha from sustainable low carbon feedstocks for the California Clean Energy fuel market (the 'Project').
 
They are looking for Operators to support operational construction activities for the project that may include current utility operations to potentially break free company operators to support construction support at the renewable fuels refinery in Bakersfield, CA.  
  • This is a hands-on field position
  • Potential shift work 
  • May be assigned to project support
  • May be assigned to operations 
  • Start up / pre-commissioning / commissioning experience a plus
  • Needs to be able to climb tanks vessels etc.
  • Process understanding a plus
Preferred experience 
  • Good compression of procedures, processes and systems is desirable in a candidate. 
  • This position requires shift work on a rotating schedule. 
  • Tasks include monitoring and adjusting flows and temperatures on equipment and systems
  • Outside and or DCS board operator position preferably with 10 years facility operating experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Perform numerous tasks with minimal supervision.
● High school / GED minimum; Associates degree or higher
  • Honeywell DCS experience a plus.
● Must be able to climb ladders and or stairs on tanks, vessels and structures; wear
respirator,
● Perform rounds on shift with minimal supervision
● Ability to work in confined spaces and wear self-contained breathing apparatus
● Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
● Strong attention to detail
● Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
● Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screen
● Good verbal and written communication skills
● Demonstrated problem-solving skills
● Proficient computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office, Familiarity with Google Suite preferred
● Must have a valid Driver's license and a clean driving record
● Be able to respond to emergency calls as needed
● Honeywell TDC board operation is a plus
● 5 year minimum experience in refining or chemical plant operations
● Two (2) years of experience in mechanical maintenance position
● Associate or technology degree in process technology or science discipline
 
Must be able to pass all CA safety, drug & alcohol requirements for refinery work

Pay Range: 30-55/hr. (Depending on experience)
