PTS Advance is in search of a Refinery Planner/Scheduler. Previous refinery experience required.
The Planner Scheduler will plan and schedule the project from FEL through the Execution phase and Commissioning phase.
Will establish and develop, maintain project logic networks, schedules and risk management data, forecasting, earned value, schedule variance analysis and schedules quality check. Continuous liaison with Project Controls Manager and Project Management must be maintained to assure optimum utilization of information and manpower in order to satisfy project completion date. 

Pay rate: 65+ hr.

Hours: 40 hrs. a week

The Planner/Scheduler will work with the Project Management Team and Project Discipline Leads to obtain project status.

Responsibilities:
  1. Reports to the Project Controls Manager and may be responsible florin the Pre-execution Phase.
  2. Originate and update an integrated project cost and schedule system.
  3. Write procedures and instructions for preparation and maintenance of project plans and schedules.
  4. Identify all activities on the project and develop logic using precedence diagram method (PDM).
  5. Prepare procedures for project control reporting including risk assessment and earned value.
  6. Program logic to include project benchmarks for the duration of the project.
  7. Organize and facilitate risk assessment interviews at the direction of the Project Control Manager.
  8. Construct logic network modifications to facilitate risk mitigation and contingency planning process.
  9. Maintain the integrated schedule reflecting the relationship and interdependencies of the engineering, procurement and construction functions.
  10. Reviewing schedule, progress and productivity of contractors, monitor and verify monthly earned value.
  11. Ensuring that everything is on time so the deadlines of the project can be met. In the Execution Phase.

  14. Monitors actual progress and comparison to baseline, and reports the analysis, against the schedule, to project manager and Functional Managers.
  15. This allows for proper decision making in efforts to maintain or improve the project schedule.
  16. Consolidates information from Engineering, Procurement and Construction Project Management and Project Discipline Leads to develop the project schedules (baseline time-phased schedule with proper constraints) and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for assigned projects.
  17. Participates in weekly Schedule Reviews to ensure that schedule requirements are being met. Meets with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management and Project Discipline Leads to obtain project status (e.g. engineering deliverables, procurement delivery schedules, installation start dates, etc.) in order to update the project schedule.
  18. Prepare Reports of Earned Value and variance of the Project Plan.
  19. Program approved recovery or work-around plans.
  20.  Interface with the Contractors Planning and Scheduling Specialists to ensure that task data is incorporated into the integrated project schedule.
  21. Coordinate with the Contractor and lead planning-oriented meetings with disciplines engineers and project management that will highlight and report status on upcoming project milestone events

Basic/Required Qualifications:
  1. BS Degree. Minimum 9 years' experience in scheduling for small to large size downstream projects.
  2. Demonstrated ability to independently consolidate and analyze information from various sources to develop effective overall project schedules.
  3. Technical competency in preparation of automate and integrated project controls.
  4. Minimum 3 years field scheduling experience.
  5. Leadership skills. Strong refinery turnaround experience.


Preferred Skills and Competencies.
  1. Proficiency in the use of project planning software. (Primavera version 6; MS Project;).
  2. BS Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other equivalent experience i.e. mathematics, statistics or project administration.
  3. Knowledge of Project Controls, Planning and Scheduling, Progress Measurement (Earned Value).
  4. Demonstrates effective organization and project planning skills.
  5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced.
  6. Demonstrable ability to develop reports for, and presentations to management.
  7.  Computer Literacy
  8. The ability to work with excel and build a pivot table would be a plus.
