PTS is currently for a Planner/Scheduler in Laurel, MT.

Contract position from August 2025 to August 2028.
Per diem is offered.
5x10's schedule.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling both planned and unplanned events.

Responsibilities:

•              Routinely communicate planning status to the TA Manager.

•              Keep planning team aligned with steering team goals.

•              Lead the development of both the plan to plan and the detailed execution plan.   Meet all planning milestones.

•              Maintain consistency in planning and estimating across all areas and contractors.  Ensure job plans and estimates are maintained in the TA library for use in future TAs.

•              Oversee the development of the Primavera schedule and all work packages.   Routinely audit work packages for quality, constructability, safety, congestion, schedule accuracy and materials.   

•              Oversee the material coordination for the TA.  Audit job kits for completion and proper storage location.

•              Flag / resolve resource constraints necessary to meet planning milestones.

•              Track milestones and report compliance, completion rates and target dates to the TA steering team.

•              Provide technical support and leadership for planners and schedulers.

•              Provide detailed work packages to contractors and contractor coordinators.

•              Document Work Scope Collection Process. Train key contributors on their roles with respect to scope identification and scope freeze (ie. what is expected of engineering, operations, etc. to gather scope).

•              Write planning basis document to outline assumptions, planning quality requirements, necessary elements of each plan, data transfer method to scheduling tool, etc.

•              Recommend resource requirements and needs to the TA manager.

•              Coordinate with the TA Manager to draft the contracting strategy.

•              Document planning requirements and oversee planning quality.

•              Work with operations and engineering to define cleanliness criteria and guidelines.

•              Assign pre-turnaround work execution supervision responsibility

•              Set expectations for interface with supporting technical disciplines (level of written communications on scope, meeting routine, etc.).

•              Define work package content, package quality expectations and planning status reporting metrics.

•              Define work package review & approval process.

•              Plan work packages.

•              Prepare contractor bid requests.

•              Review Bid Packages for Major Contracts

•              Participate in contractor mobilization plans,

•              Document equipment bills of materials (BOM's) and order materials.

•              Build work packages using pre-determined guidelines.

•              Test productivity assumptions

•              Submit preliminary work scope for contracts

•              Define Hydroblast Requirements

•              Define Tool Supply and Tool Room Procedures

•              Document field tagging guidelines

•              Complete critical path constructability reviews

•              Complete crane and rigging plans

•              Complete scope risk assessment

•              Complete all work package reviews

•              Review schedule with contractor

•              Distribute all work packages to field supervision

•              Complete information posting

•              Incorporate scope changes into work packs 

Lead Scheduler Responsibilities (contracted position – TA manager maintains consistency):

•              Maintain the scheduling basis document (productivity assumptions, key milestones, reporting needs, information process flow, planning input, etc.) to define the scheduling process. Include the key structural elements of the schedule (resource coding, WBS, work order numbering, assumptions, key milestones, logic ties, hold points)

•              Coordinate with the TA manager to determine the daily schedule reporting needs (critical path, near critical path, S curves, productivity, etc.

•              Establish requirements for look-ahead processing.

•              Lead critical path analysis and optimization reviews.

•              Establish schedule development milestones (baseline issue, optimization, critical path analysis, level, final schedule, etc.).

•              Define schedule software interfaces and establish expectations for planning group.

•              Train field personnel on schedule related administration.

•              Coordinate with the operations representative to establish system handover schedule and operations manpower needs.

•              Level ancillary craft needs.

•              Tie hold points to QA/QC, PSSR and MOC steps.

•              Define field schedule progress reporting strategy

•              Coordinate with core team to define schedule priorities.

•              Perform schedule risk profiling

•              Load field responsibility names

•              Complete schedule development

•              Perform Density Reviews

•              Load Execution Milestones

•              Perform Resource Leveling

•              Schedule pre TA work.

•              Issue final baseline schedule

•              Document implementation of recovery plans in schedule

•              Provide work schedules and work packs for shift


Hourly wage: $70-$80 based on experience.
