Pay Range: $25-$33hr
Location: Northbrook, IL & Joliet, IL
Duration: 1 year long contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40hrs.week. Hybrid schedule.
The Procurement Specialist responsibilities include providing capital project support for the Indirect Procurement team. The Role will effectively engage with Suppliers, Project Managers, Key internal Stakeholders, manage request for quotes, coordinate vendors, and facilitate contracts. This role reports to the VP -NA Manufacturing & Operations and supports the Indirect Procurement team with Capital and Operational support for all US sites.
Responsibilities:
- Capital project support:
- Support project team in executing sourcing events (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs), providing analysis for supplier negotiations and manage project suppliers as assigned throughout the end-to-end sourcing process.
- Develop and manage procurement plans.
- Support the management of bid proposals (RFI/RFP), documentation, contracts, statements of work (SOW), service level agreements (SLA), purchase/service agreements and other related documents.
- Manage purchase orders and expedite purchases associated with assigned capital projects.
- Review exceptions and escalated issues that require special attention.
- Provide regular status reports on status of procurement plans & key purchases to project team.
- Vendor coordination support:
- Support procurement category managers in executing vendor add / maintenance requests including vendor payment inquiries, vendor bank changes, and communication & follow up with vendors.
- Collect required documentation for new vendors and collaborate with category managers and Accounts Payable team in adding new suppliers.
- Develop and provide status reports regarding new vendor adds, vendor information changes, and vendor banking changes.
- Assist procurement category managers and site material requestors in responding and correcting vendor payment issues.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience with procurement in capital and/or operations projects.
- Previous work experience in sourcing of Capital Services, expediting, and customer service in a manufacturing setting is a key requirement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with effective stakeholder engagement skills across multiple departments and levels.
- Experience with capital / project buying; RFP/RFQ, bid analysis
- Ability to identify efficiency / productivity improvements to drive cost savings
- Highly proficient Verbal & Written Communication skills, Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Problem Solving, and Analytical skills
Education:
- Associates degree or higher in Business, Operations, or Accounting is preferred
- 5+ Years procurement experience with no degree will be considered.
