Our client was founded with the principle that renewable fuels should come from non-food based sources that are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable.
The Company is upgrading and modifying an existing oil refinery to produce renewable diesel fuel, propane, and naphtha from sustainable low carbon feedstocks for the California Clean Energy fuel market (the 'Project').
They are looking for a Project Engineer reporting to the Project Director, provide management of engineering and construction of small capital (<$10MM) projects at the renewable diesel refinery.
The Project Engineer will also be responsible to:
- Work with refinery engineering department to gain understanding of engineering designs and technical objectives of projects.
- Work with planning staff and contractors, develop project budgets and high-level schedules for execution.
- Manage daily engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Manage scheduling of activities with contractors and refinery staff and manage change.
- Report progress of projects on a weekly and monthly basis to refinery management.
- Work closely and collaboratively with refinery engineering, project management, and project controls staff.
Required experience
- 5+ years of proven successful management of substantial construction projects in and industrial manufacturing environment.
- Must understand FEED I, II, III
- Experience and familiarity working with engineering contractors
Preferred experience
- Technical Engineering certificate or degree
- Working experience in oil/gas refineries and/or chemical production facilities.
- Position requires a focus on safe work practices in an operating refinery, and relevant training, certification, and experience in safe work practices is highly desirable.
Must be able to pass all CA safety, drug & alcohol requirements for refinery work
