Project Engineer - 

Project Engineers ensure that projects are performed in a safe and cost-effective manner and meet the scope of work, timing of delivery and level of quality established with our clients. They will be responsible for coordination and completion of projects as assigned in support of the Project Manager or Construction Manager leading the work. The individual will help with all aspects of projects including but not limited to coordinating team activities, tracking actions and needs lists, assigning team member responsibilities, establishing deadlines, documenting meeting minutes, and tracking and reporting on the progress and financial status of a project. During the engineering, design and pre-construction phases of a project, the Project Engineer will work with our engineering partner to ensure a lean, cost effective and safe design basis is established that satisfies the scope of work for the project. The Project Engineer will work with the pre-construction team and engineering firm to develop requisition packages for equipment and construction work packages for execution of the project. The Project Engineer will participate in design progress reviews, constructability reviews and review and approval activities with the client. During the execution phase, once the project goes to the field, the Project Engineer will support their Project Manager or Construction Manager/Superintendent deliver projects to schedule and budget requirements in a safe manner. As a Field Engineer the Project Engineer will manage RFI's, organize and control project documentation, support field procurement, planning and scheduling, and cost engineering in the reporting of progress and delivery of weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
  
Education and Experience:
A.    BS degree in Mechanical/Civil/Petroleum Engineering, Construction Management, or combination of higher education and experience to perform this role effectively.
B.    Experience in Industrial Construction preferred.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
A.    Learn, understand, and implement Total American PASS Program.
B.    Basic understanding of industrial construction practices, codes and regulations.
C.    Basic knowledge of process plant design and types of equipment utilized in the industry as well as a general understanding of system operations (i.e. boilers, shoring, power cycles)
D.    Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
E.    Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and orally in a professional business setting.
F.    Must be familiar with estimating and scheduling processes.
G.    Must be able to read blueprints, CAD files, and shop drawings.

Typical Work Activities and Expectations:

A.    Participate in job walks and bid meetings to understand the scope of work and customer requirements.
B.    Assist Project Manager with project scheduling, tracking, issue management, risk management, change management, and status reporting.
C.    Work with field supervision to assess needs for foremen and crafts assignments to the project.
D.    Develop and promote effective positive relationships with customer representatives and ensure that they are satisfied with the progress and quality of work performed.
E.    Provide accurate and timely reports to management and customers as required.
F.    Participate in team meetings and safety meetings.    
G.    Regular travel to project sites as required.
H.    Must possess a valid driver's license and comply with Company driving policy.
I.    Must comply with Corporate Drug and Alcohol Policy.
5.    Environmental Working Conditions:    
A.    May be required to work outdoors and on uneven surfaces.
B.    May be required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
C.    May work in areas with hazardous chemicals.
D.    Occasionally works in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels.
E.    Work will be split between home office, engineering/ design office, client office and construction work site.
