Quality Control Manager - Sacramento 
 
Our Client is a leading provider of Industrial Construction and Mechanical Services in the West. They perform projects in multiple industries including Refineries, Power Plants, Food and Beverage, Chemical Plants, Water Treatment, Natural Gas Storage and Manufacturing Facilities.  
 
They are looking for a Quality Control Manager for their fabrication shop in Sacramento, CA.
 
The Quality Control Manager is responsible to oversee the application of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program, including inspections, weld procedures, material receiving, audits, paperwork, working in a pipe fabrication shop environment with Union Pipefitters and Supervision, being involved in 'R Stamp Code Work' and auditing of all QC paperwork prior to submittal.  
 
This person is also responsible for:
  • ASME & NBIC Code Knowledge (ASME PP and S Stamps, NBIC R Stamp)
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
  • Understanding of welding procedures and welder qualifications (WPS, PQR, WPQ, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with MS Office (word, excel, etc.)
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Coordinate testing and other QC witness and hold point with client and/or Authorized Inspector (A.I.)
  • Review Quality Control Turnover Documents (TO Books, Hydrotest Packages)
  • Ability to perform State Lands Commission, OSFM (Office of State Fire Marshal) and DOT hydrotests
  • Knowledge of ASME Section IX, B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1, API-650 and API-1104
  • Manage and follow project specific QA/QC plans (Quality Plans, ITP's, etc.) in coordination with the Project Team, the owner/client, applicable specifications, codes, and contract documents
  • Conduct testing and inspections and arrange for Third Party testing and inspections.   Analyze and report results
  • Assure thorough paperwork is created and maintained and auditing of paperwork is taking place in the following areas:
    1. Weld Maps
    2. Welder's Logs
    3. Weld Rod Control
    4. Welder Testing, Continuity, Procedures, Qualifications
    5. Hydrostatic Testing, pneumatic testing, other testing
    6. NDE
    7. PWHT
    8. Project specific requirements
  • Understanding and working knowledge of construction codes and standards and the application of effective quality control measures
  • Gains trust, supports others, encourages problem solving and collaboration, is cooperative and seen as a Team Player
  • Period travel required (jobsite specific when required), all within California
  • Position assigned to Sacramento Fabrication Shop
  • Position reports directly to Director of Quality
  • Must have a current CWI
