P6 Scheduler

P6 Scheduler: The P6 Scheduler is responsible for building the master P6 schedule and reporting progress during assigned projects' execution. 

Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the refinery P6 system administrator.
  • Reviews P6 requests and creates P6 user accounts.
  • Updates the scheduling tab of the iTAR/iCON (MPC web based systems) worklist.
  • Coordinate, input, and report progress on the POP to TAR Supervision.
  • Set planner expectations (coding, WBS, etc.).
  • Responsible for the completion of necessary P6 coding.
  • Create exception reports on necessary coding. Provide feedback to Execution Area Leads and contract planners.
  • Create exception reports for use of proper jobcard numbers. Provide feedback to Execution Area Leads and contract planners.
  • Create standard P6 project milestones based on MPC standards.
  • Identify and create project specific intermediate milestones.
  • Provide guidance on proper use of internal logic within jobcard plans.
  • Provide guidance on proper use of external logic to standard milestones.
  • Ensure plans meet refinery planning guidelines. Provides feedback to Execution Area Leads and contract planners to maintain consistency.
  • Communicate scheduling priorities and guidelines to Execution Area Leads and contract planners.
  • Review scheduling priorities are complete and meet guidelines.
  • Review/complete logic ties between jobcards and project specific scheduling milestones.
  • Review logic network for quality and completeness.
  • Review logic network with applicable Execution Area Leads and contract planners for correctness.
  • Assist Execution Area Leads performing logic reviews with MPC, primary, and secondary contractors.
  • Level resources per MPC guidelines for the entire Execution project.
  • Provide manhour reports to the Project Controls Group for check estimates, control estimates, and forecast estimates.
  • Complete the reviews described in the P6 Administrative Checklist prior to setting project baselines.
  • Set project baselines.
  • Setup, administer, and issue execution reports.
  • Work closely with Project Controls to interface the cost system and planning systems for producing reports on productivity and indirect/direct ratio.
  • Oversee progress updates to the plan during execution phases.
  • Provide progress and performance reporting during execution.
  • Provide data for close-out reports and performance summaries.
  • Maintain master jobcard file in P6.
  • Move master jobcards into contractor P6 sandboxes as required.
  • Perform monthly self-assessments per MPC requirements.
  • Provide planner training as required on proper use of P6 and MPC standards.
  • Follow all instructions as designated per MPC Scheduling Standards and Guidelines (RSP-1100-001-FORM40).
  • Creates and manages Syntempo user accounts.
  • Participates in P6 Admin Group monthly meetings and annual F2F to administer site requirements and contribute to overall database health.
  • Center point of contact for all schedule related software issues. (P6, Syntempo, Analytics, Citrix, etc.).
