SENIOR DEVELOPMENT SERVICES MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for understanding the range of solutions available and identifying creative solutions for the client. This includes effectively prioritizing and delegating work to achieve client's goals, managing personnel as needed, driving project momentum with Project Managers and Technical Support teams, identifying and working with Principals on process improvement, and focusing on new opportunities. The expectation is to serve as a 'trusted advisor' for clients providing high-level strategy and technical direction on projects and effectively communicate to client and stakeholders. The Senior Manager reports to the Office Practice Leader.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide high-level strategy and technical direction on projects
- Effectively prioritize and delegate tasks to achieve client's goals
- Drive project momentum with Project Managers and Technical staff
- Mentor and train Staff personnel and Project Managers in activities required to successfully complete projects
- Provide some personnel management as delegated by Practice Leader/Principal
- Verify proper administration of all projects, signature authority on proposals, reports, and invoices
- Work with resources to modify or negotiate alternative administrative solutions for clients (rates, contracts, payment strategy, etc.)
- Specialize in an area of expertise (recognized expert)
- Discover new opportunities from managed accounts
- Lead regulatory meetings and drive solutions
- Aggressively manage issues with subcontractors
- Develop short- and long-term strategic options for the client based on business needs, project expectations, and environmental risk tolerance
- Identify new opportunities from managed accounts
- Connect clients to other clients to make deals happen and increase opportunities
- Maintain Managed Clients, including clients with higher growth potential
- Serve as expert for presentations, publish articles, and present at trade shows or other events
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Effective prioritization and delegation to achieve client's goals
- Knowledge of investigation activities: advance soil borings, soil samples, groundwater monitoring wells, geologic and aquifer studies; laboratory sample preparation, vapor studies, excavation area assessments, and record searches
- Knowledge of cleanup strategies: product recovery systems, pilot tests for remedial system design, remedial system installation and operation tank removals, and decontaminate manufacturing facilities
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education: B.S. in environmental science, geology, engineering, or related field
Recommended Experience: 9 + years of project experience in environmental consulting
Certifications: Current or working towards a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer License is a plus
Skills: Strong computer and verbal/written communication skills
Additional requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and capable of operating vehicles safely
