Position Overview
A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Staff Project Controls Specialist to lead project controls processes and support project execution across engineering, procurement, and construction activities. This role ensures deliverables are completed within budget and schedule, provides data analysis and reporting, and acts as a key point of contact for project teams on technical project control matters.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project controls activities including scheduling, cost control, logistics, and forecasting
Set up and maintain projects in Enterprise Planning & Controls software
Analyze data, review logs, and run reports to support decision-making
Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), cash flows, cost reports, and schedules
Approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding and documentation
Support internal audits and interface with accounting and project management teams on project costs
Review change orders and update project forecasts accordingly
Monitor resource loading, develop schedule reports, and support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM)
Implement and maintain earned value management systems and progress measurement tools
Perform quality checks, field audits, material takeoffs, and schedule what-if scenarios
Assist with project forensic analysis and other duties as assigned
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience (3+ years project controls experience required)
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain
Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in earned value management, progress curves, and project cost forecasting
Familiarity with engineering, procurement, and construction project environments
