Senior Subcontract Manager 

Epes, Alabama Raleigh, North Carolina / Bethesda, Maryland 

 

The Sr. Subcontract Manager will report directly to the VP of Procurement, and work to support functions in the Procurement department. Provide project leadership supervising a team of Subcontract Administrators in the performance of awarding, administering, and closeout of project subcontracts and other related vehicles to meet project schedules.

 

Job Title: Senior Subcontract Manager 

Hourly Pay Rate: $65.00- $80.00 per hour (Depending on Experience) 

Location: Epes Alabama/ or Raleigh, North Carolina / or Bethesda, Maryland 

Travel: Regularly up to 25% of time. (Additional required travel if not based at Project Site location) 

 

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the execution of field subcontracts to ensure the work is within the scope and commercial requirements including the safe execution of work, ensuring quality goals are met while completing the work in a timely manner.
  • Direct the sourcing efforts and make recommendations for award of the project subcontracts to the project leadership. 
  • Analyzes project data to determine if the subcontractors are meeting the commercial requirements and project goals.
  • Negotiate change orders, claims, disputes in alignment with the commercial terms of the subcontract agreements.
  • Coordinate the subcontractors' work with other subcontractors and Company personnel to achieve the best results for the project.
  • Administers subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
  • Coordinates with designated project staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, subcontract administration and other major matters.
  • Prepares weekly/monthly periodic status reports for management.

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university 
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Subcontract Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of dedicated subcontract management experience.
  • Must have Greenfield experience. 
  • Field related working experience in the construction industry working with Subcontractors and/or direct craft.
  • Budget responsibilities of over $250M.
  • Proven leadership leading teams of 3- 20 members.
  • Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices 
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
  • Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize workload.
