Overview:
PTS Advance is seeking Area / Service Planning Technicians to support local Florida utility clients in the Plant City area. These individuals will play a key role in planning and coordinating new or upgraded electrical service for residential customers. This is a highly customer-facing, field-based role ideal for candidates with utility, co-op, or design engineering experience who are comfortable working directly with homeowners, electricians, and internal utility teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform area and service planning for residential electrical service requests
  • Meet directly with homeowners and electricians to assess service needs and site conditions
  • Develop and coordinate plans for new service installations, upgrades, or modifications
  • Manage a weekly workload of service requests (typically 8–10 locations)
  • Utilize field time and mobile resources (take-home truck) to complete site visits and planning activities
  • Collaborate with utility teams to ensure accurate and timely execution
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication throughout the planning process
  • Ensure all work aligns with utility standards, safety requirements, and local regulations

Qualifications:

  • Experience in utility service planning, area planning, or design engineering preferred
  • Background with utilities is highly desirable
  • Strong customer-facing experience and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Comfortable managing a schedule and traveling locally to multiple sites daily
  • Valid driver's license (company vehicle / take-home truck provided)

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of residential electrical service design and installation
  • Familiarity with utility standards and service requirements
  • Experience working directly with electricians, builders, or homeowners

Work Environment:

  • Based out of office in Plant City, FL
  • Field-based role with daily site visits (typically 1–2 hours in the field per day)
  • Take-home truck provided
  • Weekly schedule driven by assigned service requests
