Site Safety & Health Specialist

- Hourly range: $40-$60
- On site: Various projects sites in Ohio, California, New York, Texas, & Nebraska
Are you ready to lead the charge in creating a zero-incident culture and ensuring safety excellence on construction sites? Join our client's dynamic team as a Site Safety & Health Specialist. This role offers the opportunity to lead the project management team in a dynamic heavy construction environment, driving safety and excellence at every turn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Safety & Health programs on construction sites to ensure safe operations and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Administer Site Safety & Health deliverables as outlined by Corporate Safety & Health, addressing site-specific compliance questions promptly.
- Conduct routine health and safety performance reviews and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Strive to achieve the company's goal of zero safety incidents through effective program oversight.
- Resolve work stoppage issues due to immediate threats to life and health, reporting incidents and collaborating on prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with site personnel on Safety & Health issues, recommending best practices and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate the on-site Safety & Health program with the client's Safety & Health Department to address issues and ensure compliance.
- Conduct walk-through assessments, review findings, and document necessary corrections for timely resolution.
- Prepare safety memos and assist in communications to promote safety awareness and prioritize a productive work environment.
- Lead, conduct, and document training on relevant Safety & Health topics.
- Review reports on near misses and incidents, recommending countermeasures and communicating challenges to Corporate Safety & Health.
- Ensure completion of Daily Field Safety & Health Report forms and maintain audit-ready safety records.
- Travel to project sites as needed, perform additional duties, and adhere to all policies and standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred but not required
- 7-11 years construction safety, general industry safety, or construction management
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA regulations for Construction and General Industry, along with expertise in ANSI standards, NIOSH guidelines, Army Corps of Engineers Manual 385-1, and NEC standards
- OSHA 10-hour required OSHA 30-hour preferred
- Must be willing to work various schedules at the project site location
- Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
- Valid driver's license required
- Microsoft Office proficient
