PTS Advance is currently seeking resumes from qualified Construction Managers for the Battery Energy Storage Systems construction projects in Riverside, and San Diego, CA.

The Construction Manager is responsible for the On-Site Team observing the Contractor's performance. The Team consists of a Construction Manager and a variable team of specialists, supervisors, and inspectors. Monitor and report the execution of the construction plan by the Contractor, ensuring compliance with all local building codes and any other legal or regulatory requirements. This role will obtain input from all the on-site Team (Supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, and Admin) and make executive decisions on the construction progress. Will provide the Client's Project Management a main point of contact for construction follow up on site and and will have regular communication with the Client's PM and Contractor's Project Director.  
 
 
Duties:
  1. Management of the On-Site Construction Team and supervision of the Contractor to meet Project and BSQ objectives. If deemed necessary, "change order "requests will be evaluated and informed to the Client's Project Manager. Once the Contractor receives the Owner´s approval, the corresponding contract amendment with the Contractor will be executed.
  2. Maximizing resource efficiency through informing the Owner about needs in the procurement of labor, materials, and equipment.
  3. Developing effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts with the Contractor. Meeting with Contractor daily to oversee the construction progress and solve issues, providing technical support throughout the construction process.
  4. Creating high-level construction supervision reports and informing the Owner through the Client's Project Manager.
  5. Prepare, maintain, and update bi-weekly Critical Path Method schedule containing all Project activities, in order to provide Owner with comprehensive and current Project status, critical path(s) to Project completion, positive or negative float, and potential workaround alternatives
  6. Prepare, maintain, and update bi-weekly a log of all Contractor-related costs incurred, contractual commitments (including pending and approved change orders), amounts invoiced and paid, current Contractor budgets, trends, and expected cost at completion.
  7. Prepare, maintain, and update bi-weekly tracking tables to show in graphic form the status and quantity of work completed and remaining to be performed. Verify Contractor progress reporting including percentage completion, milestones completed, and work invoiced.
  8. Attend meetings between the Owner and Contractor, prepare the minutes for each meeting, and, after reviewing them with the Owner, have the Contractor approve them.
  9. Provide weekly construction reports covering site conditions, weather, site manpower, work performed, Contractor equipment and materials On-site, and any work interferences, disruptions, or Contractor non-performance.
  10. Provide bi-weekly Project related status covering all Project work performed during the reporting period, work scheduled during the next reporting period, Project completion status, and open or anticipated issues, concerns, and corrective actions to be taken
 
 
Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): 
 
  1. Bachelor or Masters in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) or related field.
  2. PE or ability for PE licensure is a plus
  3. CM experience of 10 years (minimum)
  4. Scheduling. Primavera P6 and MS Project proficiency. Experience working with document control platforms Procore.
  5. Understanding of, and experience with all facets of construction contracts.
  6. Good client facing experience 
  7. Account management experience; demonstrated the ability to grow and develop customer accounts
  8. Has the ability and industry contacts to build a Construction Management book of business
  9. Demonstrates good people management and leadership skills
  10. Experience hiring CM's and PM's for projects

Direct Hire 
Location: Irvine, CA or Phoenix, AZ 
Salary Range: 150k-170k
Eligible for bonus dependent on performance and company profitability
