PTS Advance is looking for a Sr. Process Engineer of Conceptual Engineering to join our team! This is a contract to permanent position supporting our client in Krotz Spring, Louisiana. 
The Sr. Process Engineer, Conceptual Engineering shall support the Asset on all Conceptual Engineering matters in developing concepts for projects to mitigate the identified risks and threats for a reliable safe operation and shall provide technical assurance for developed concept.  Work with PMO leadership to ensure movement of projects into execution in a timely manner.
Contribute to decision making including development of practices, processes, and procedures.
 
 
Job Title: Senior Process Engineer, Conceptual Engineering
Pay Rate: $75.00-$85.00 per hour (Depending on Experience) 
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday (8:00am- 5:00pm) 
Location: Krotz Springs, Louisiana 
**Work will mainly be onsite daily- possibilities of hybrid schedule 
Assignment Duration: 6 months Contract- Permanent hire 
 
Work Activities - Process Engineering: 
 
  • Ensure that in all matters safety, economic and technical assessments are made, due diligence is observed, and initiative taken to secure the best economical results.
  • Ensure that all information, both written and spoken, obtained in the course of the work is handled with confidentiality.
  • Ensure that the work is carried out in a professional manner and in compliance with applicable contracts, Company policies, values and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Actively monitor work progress such that risks, and problem areas are identified, reported and solutions identified.
  • Plan and execute assigned projects and tasks.
  • Bring forward suggestions for improvements in time and cost within the areas of responsibility.
  • Identify areas of technical innovation that can improve Company safety, profitability, or reliability.
  • Maintain a sound understanding and knowledge of current versions of applicable codes, standards, and design guidelines.
 
Work Activities - Conceptual Engineering:                           
 
  • Support Conceptual Engineering role as the Company focal point during Phase 1 to 2A of future Projects in alignment with the site 3-Year plan.
  • Conduct economic and technical analyses in support of identifying the competitive scope for the problem statement the project should address.
  • Act as primary technical interface with steering Committee and PMO as required.
  • Perform functional governance of performance and technology trials conducted at laboratory and pilot-plant scale.
  • Establish and manage a professional relationship with vendors, research institutes and technology suppliers to ensure provision of deliverables, services, and professional expertise in due time.
  • Scope out, tender, manage and assure conceptual engineering studies conducted by third parties.
  • Review conceptual design-related drawings and other technical documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, and best industry practice.
  • Contribute to early screening and business case generation of opportunities and threats raised by the Asset risk assessments.
  • Use and support maintain philosophies, procedures, guidelines, and tools to support the Conceptual Engineering group's areas of operation.
  • Maintain a good understanding and knowledge of process simulation and calculation programs, with particular emphasis on working with production forecasts.
  • Participate in safety workshops (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, etc.) and task/operational risk assessments as required.
  • Participate in peer reviews.
  • Participate in multidiscipline and interdepartmental workshops and task forces.
 
Work Activities - Support other Departments:    
  • Provide technical analysis and guidance to Production Optimization group to support Maximum Production Potential initiative.
  • Provide direction and advice on conceptual engineering best practice to asset workstreams as required.
  • Provide assurance of conceptual design activities performed by other asset teams and Contract Engineering teams.
  • Liaise with site Project Managers to ensure that projects under execution remain aligned with long-term technical strategies for the asset.
  • Proactively take responsibility for self-progression by keeping abreast with latest developments, knowledge, and innovations in relevant field of expertise.
                                                            
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelors in Chemical or Process Engineering from a recognized university        
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience, preferably with a combination of operating, consulting & design background.
  • Exposure to all stages of the Downstream project life cycle and exposure to operating facilities is essential.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of Process Engineering Design in Refinery applications.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary Front-End teams (PLUS) 
  • Proven experience in managing engineering contractors (PLUS) 
  • Good general computer skills, familiar with standard Process Engineering software packages, and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Fundamental knowledge of conceptual process equipment sizing and rating calculations essential, together with strong awareness of general, bigger-picture conceptual issues (e.g. field architecture, facility topsides layout design, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of industry standards and Company EPs applicable to process and conceptual engineering.
