Subcontracts Manager
PTS is looking for an experienced Subcontracts Manager to join our clients team. The Subcontracts Manager will oversee the execution of field subcontracts to ensure the work is within the scope and commercial requirements including the safe execution of work, ensuring quality goals are met while completing the work in a timely manner. Responsibility for administration of site lever sub contract administration.
Work Location: Epes, Alabama
Travel: Qualified candidates who live outside of Alabama are eligible for a travel based schedule
Locations Eligible for Travel Schedule: Houston, TX or Raleigh, NC
Work Schedule: Onsite at Project (Monday- Friday x4- 10 hour shifts, weekends as needed)
Type of Position: Direct hire position
Pay Range: $115,000 - $125,000 annually
Incentives: Role eligible for 15% annual bonus
Responsibilities
- Provide project leadership in the performance of awarding, administering, and closeout of project subcontracts and other related vehicles to meet project schedules.
- Oversee the execution of field subcontracts to ensure the work is within the scope and commercial requirements including the safe execution of work, ensuring quality goals are met while completing the work in a timely manner.
- Direct the sourcing efforts and make recommendations for award of the project subcontracts to the project leadership.
- Analyzes project data to determine if the subcontractors are meeting the commercial requirements and project goals.
- Negotiate change orders, claims, disputes in alignment with the commercial terms of the subcontract agreements.
- Coordinate the subcontractors' work with other subcontractors and Company personnel to achieve the best results for the project.
- Administers subcontracts maintaining a continual review of progress and providing management with information regarding projected financial or technical difficulties.
- Coordinates with designated project staff on operational activities affecting contractual rights and obligations, subcontract performance, subcontract administration and other major matters.
- Prepares weekly/monthly periodic status reports for management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Subcontract Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of dedicated subcontract management experience.
- Field related working experience in the construction industry working with Subcontractors and/or direct craft.
- Budget responsibilities of over $250M.
- Proven leadership leading teams 1-2.
- Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of procurement regulations, policies and practices.
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in developing contract types, fee arrangements and contract terms.
- Experience in developing and recommending potential solutions to contractual problems to management.
- Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize workload
Travel requirements
- Site Based Position
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time to offices in Bethesda and Raleigh and Supplier/Subcontractor offices
Working Conditions
- Able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
- Corporate and field office setting with 75% desk work, and 25% out in the field with the subcontractors.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues. * Add with or without notice
- Remote work when not traveling to or working at site.
- Ability to transition between onsite work and construction site frequently during the workday
Physical Requirements
- Able to work on computer screen format for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
- Able to walk construction sites at various stages of completion and weather conditions for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
