Our client specializes in capital construction projects and long-term maintenance contracts for midstream and downstream energy facilities and pipelines. They currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to be based at a project site in Pasadena, TX.

Current work schedule is 9/80s and will eventually move to 4/10s.


Warehouse Manager

This is a unique opportunity wherein the person we are looking for will create the warehousing process from scratch. At this point we have a warehouse building completed within the maintenance building complex at a new plant yet to be completely built. We expect it to be starting up in 2023. So we are looking for an experienced organized petrochemical plant warehouse manager to develop the total life cycle of materials/parts management. The warehouse manager will create the process oversee inventory management, storage, receiving, dispatching, shipping and administrative functions. You will oversee, train, evaluate and reward staff in a CMMS environment. To ensure success you need to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and perform your duties using our CMMS (eMaint) in a manner that maximizes efficient strategies and profits. There are many similarities with the work of logistics and distribution warehouse managers although this position as a warehouse manager is less involved in coordinating logistics on a larger organization-wide scale and more focused on coordinating staff and products within the warehouse. However, on turnaround we may ask you to become involved with logistical and plot plan management responsibilities


Warehouse Manager Responsibilities

*Ensuring the safety of staff.

*Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.

*Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements

*Create life cycle process audit and reporting data for inventory including ordering minimum stock and restock items

*Communicate with other departments to ensure products are shipped in a timely manner

*Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse

*Implementing and overseeing security operations.

*Implementing operational policies and procedures.

*Create Initiate coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures

*Keep up-to-date on the latest federal and state safety regulations, including tax laws/requirements related to stock minimum inventory items

*Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies

*Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of owner fleet vehicles

*Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.

*Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system

*Manage warehouse associates, monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment

*Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees

*Motivating and disciplining staff.

*Overseeing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations.

*Plan work roles, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results

*Prepare and publish annual budget

*Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, minimum stock report etc.)

*Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision

*Recruit, select, hire, orient, coach and motivate employees

*Set warehouse and team goals in collaboration with executive management and other team leads

*Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization

*Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision

*Work closely developing relationships with all plant departments including procurement laboratory and operations


Requirements and skills

*5+ years of warehouse management experience gained in the chemical/petrochemical/oil & gas industry.

*Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.

*Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.

*Valid drivers' license.

*Ability to operate forklift effectively or willing to receive training

*Proficient office computer skills including CMMS as it relates to warehouse inventory management and requisition process

*Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

*Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

*Strong people skills.

*Available to work extended hours when needed

*Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager

*Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices

*Familiar with DOT requirements for shipping and mass storage for materials and chemicals

*Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives

*Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ability to create same and publish reports

*Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases including owner CMMS eMaint

*BS degree in supply chain management or business administration a plus yet not mandatory. Proven experience in lieu of degree
