Location: Houston, TX, 77024
Schedule: 40hrs/week, but could work up to 60 if travel is involved
Responsibilities:
- Code Development: Translate control narratives and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) prepared by process and mechanical engineers into well-structured ladder logic for PLCs.
- HMI Design: Create intuitive and effective Human-Machine Interface (HMI) screens to ensure seamless operator control and monitoring of industrial processes.
- Collaboration & Commissioning: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to commission new equipment, troubleshoot systems, and ensure successful project startups at various sites.
- Electrical Systems Integration: Interpret electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, ladder diagrams, and wiring schematics, to support system design and troubleshooting.
- Hands-On Implementation: Perform and supervise the physical wiring of 24V DC control devices such as transmitters, sensors, and actuators according to manufacturer specifications and design documents.
Requirements:
- (IE SAP Experience, Excel Knowledge, Any Certifications, Years of Experience in Certain Fields): Preferably 2- 5 years experience in any of the qualifications described below.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of PLC programming, with comfort in ladder logic platforms like RSLogix or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- A hands-on aptitude and willingness to work in both office and industrial field environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship or co-op experience in an industrial automation, manufacturing, or process control environment.
- Direct experience with Rockwell Automation Systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
