The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include
    the following:
    Advanced CAD skills.
    Intermediate skills with specialized CAD software such as Civil 3D, Plant 3D and/or CADWorx.
    Solid knowledge of mechanical, civil, structural, and/or electrical drafting principles.
    Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards.
    Knowledge of company/client design standards (or ability to understand quickly).
    Math skills including geometry and trigonometry as required to perform calculations.
    Excellent communication skills.
    Ability to estimate time to complete assigned tasks.
    Critical thinking required and applied to project work: regular application of objective analysis and evaluation of an issue and forming a judgment to complete project work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties performed in this position include the following:

    Works on projects/matters of moderate complexity in a support role with minimal oversight, occasionally directed in a few aspects of the work.
    Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using complex CAD software, with little to no oversight.
    Prepares various drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, sketches with oversight.  
    Reviews drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.  
    Collaborates with engineers to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD drawings.
    Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects.  
    Provides time estimates for completing their tasks.
    Gains exposure to related engineering principles and design related tasks, including applicable regulations, related codes, and standards.
    Trains other drafters in CAD skills, standards, and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    4+ years in Energy Industry related field (or equivalent experience in a relatable design role not directly in the Energy Industry)
    Drafting Certificate or Related Design Degree (BS, BA)
