Job Summary:
The Construction Superintendent plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, timely, and profitable completion of assigned project(s). Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and supervising construction work within a designated area, overseeing subcontractors or self-performing activities, and maintaining a focus on safety, job progress, and efficiency. This role encompasses the overall supervision of construction efforts, including safety, craft productivity, materials management, scheduling, design, and contractual performance. The Superintendent is responsible for building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, managing QA/QC documents, ensuring project safety, and collaborating with project management. Daily tasks include field reports, progress documentation, and compliance with project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate construction activities, including site earthwork, concrete work, structural elements, interior finishes, and various systems.
2. Ensure compliance with subcontractor contracts and/or self-performing construction-related activities.
3. Cultivate effective relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
4. Manage QA/QC documents, inspection logs, and contribute to turnover packages.
5. Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures and standards.
6. Authorize purchase requisitions, field design change requests, and other relevant documentation.
7. Oversee project safety, reviewing and auditing safety documentation regularly.
8. Complete daily field reports, document construction progress, and assess future work activities.
9. Develop marked-up and as-built drawings and answer RFIs with support from Assistant Project Manager or Field Engineer.
10. Direct and manage subcontractors or self-performing subsidiaries to meet project schedules and track progress.
11. Oversee the construction of complete buildings and structures.
12. Develop punch lists for non-compliance or incomplete items.
13. Verify the use of the most current drawing revisions in the field.
14. Utilize project construction management tools and interpret various construction drawings.
15. Perform other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of construction management experience or craft supervision on similar projects (or equivalent experience).
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Must meet company's driving requirements.
