Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control Valve Engineer to support capital and maintenance projects within an industrial or petrochemical environment. This role will focus on the selection, specification, and application of control valves and instrumentation used throughout process units and utility systems.

The ideal candidate will have a background in control valve sizing and selection, instrumentation engineering, and project support—from design through commissioning. This position does not require DCS or automation configuration experience but instead emphasizes valve and field instrumentation expertise.

  • Review and approve vendor drawings, control valve specifications, IOM manuals, and test documentation.
  • Support procurement and vendor selection for instrumentation and valves, ensuring cost-effective and technically sound solutions.
  • Participate in P&ID reviews, design reviews, and MOC processes to ensure accurate representation of field devices.
  • Provide technical field support during installation, loop checks, calibration, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet applicable ISA, API, and ASME standards as well as site safety and reliability requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial or petrochemical environments focusing on instrumentation and control valves.
  • Hands-on knowledge of control valve sizing and selection, valve characteristics, materials, and actuator configurations.
  • Experience with instrumentation specification, calibration, and field integration for flow, pressure, level, and temperature instruments.
  • Strong understanding of ISA and API standards (ISA S75, API 598, API 6A/6D, etc.).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument index databases.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with project, maintenance, and operations teams.
