Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist –BESS Project

Location: Harrodsburg, KY
Per Diem: $135/day


Position Overview

The Senior Site Safety & Health Specialist is responsible for leading, implementing, and maintaining project-specific Safety & Health programs in compliance with Safety standards and applicable OSHA, ANSI, and NEC regulations. The role provides direct field leadership and collaboration with the client, subcontractors, and site management to drive a zero-incident safety culture throughout all project phases.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage the site-specific Safety & Health Program for BESS construction project.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA Construction & General Industry Standards, ANSI, NIOSH, and EM 385-1-1.

  • Conduct routine field safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.

  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, providing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

  • Develop and deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all project personnel.

  • Coordinate with client and subcontractor safety representatives to ensure consistent compliance and proactive hazard management.

  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, daily reports, and regulatory records in an audit-ready state.

  • Provide real-time leadership and intervention during high-risk operations, stopping work when necessary to prevent injury or equipment damage.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field; or

    • Associate degree with 9+ years of relevant experience; or

    • High school diploma/GED with 11+ years of construction safety or industrial safety management experience.

  • Certifications (Required/Preferred):

    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or OSHA 10-Hour minimum (required)

    • OSHA 500/510, NFPA 70E, EM 385-1-1 preferred

  • Proven experience leading safety programs on large-scale industrial or power projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, risk mitigation strategies, and behavioral-based safety systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to and between project sites as required.
