Electrical Superintendent – Mission Critical Data Center *PER DIEM IS AVAILABLE*
Description:
We are seeking an Electrical Superintendent with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation for mission-critical data centers. This role is responsible for overseeing field operations to ensure the safe, timely, and profitable completion of projects. The Superintendent will supervise electrical construction activities, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise specific portions of the construction project.
- Oversee the installation and scheduling of electrical-related activities, ensuring work aligns with project timelines.
- Supervise the construction of raceways, cable trays, electrical panels, duct banks, grounding, switchgear, transformers, wiring, motors, heat tracing, and instrumentation.
- Conduct and oversee instrumentation calibrations, loop checks, point-to-point checks, and electrical/control testing.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual obligations and project specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures, standards, and working documents.
- Authorize purchase requisitions and field design change requests under the guidance of the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
- Ensure site safety compliance by reviewing and auditing safety documentation such as Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs).
- Provide oversight of material deliveries, ensuring compliance with project specifications and proper storage.
- Work closely with the QA/QC Manager to verify welder qualifications and oversee compliance with welding standards.
- Supervise equipment installation, alignment, and pre/post-hydrostatic testing.
- Develop and maintain as-built drawings and manage RFIs with support from the Assistant Project Manager or Field Engineer.
- Conduct daily field reporting and document construction progress with photos.
- Track subcontractor progress based on installed quantities and work hours.
- Coordinate project staffing, oversee craft supervision, and manage site materials and tools.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, and industry standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education & Experience (One of the Following):
- Bachelor's Degree + 7 years of electrical construction management or craft supervision experience.
- Associate Degree + 9 years of electrical construction management or craft supervision experience.
- High School Diploma/GED + 11 years of electrical construction management or craft supervision experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and safety background.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and related software.
- Must meet company driving requirements.
