Sr. Environmental Program Manager (Remote)

Our client focuses on global environmental services offering environmental planning, permitting, sustainability solutions, measurement and analytical services. They are seeking a Sr. Environmental Program Manager to lead and work (remotely) alongside experienced engineers, scientists, technicians, associates, and policy experts to fulfill their project/client requirements for CEQA/NEPA compliance within the state of California. 

 

The Sr. Environmental Program Manager is a leadership position and will also be responsible for: 

  • CEQA and NEPA compliance.
  • Heavy technical writing, report writing, mitigation preparation planning, overseeing project compliance with environmental policies and maintaining client interactions on a variety projects. 
  • Biological consultation.
  • Construction monitoring, public lands, wetland descriptions, and habitat restoration services for clients within the renewable energy development, utility infrastructure, oil & gas, residential development, public sectors. 
  • Managing a high volume of projects, other managers, staff, quality assurance, quality control, budgets, and business development on a daily basis.
  • Providing technical oversight for multiple projects across the state/region. 
  • Proposal preparation, team-building, subcontracting, budget control, and scheduling for the biological, wetland, restoration, and environmental service teams. 
  • Managing the field team while providing specialized site assessments. 
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and public agencies.
  • Report preparation and review. 
  • Developing/managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Business development activities, proposal preparation, task order preparation, and contract compliance.
  • Exercise safe work practices at all times by following all company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including being present to all required safety training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned with little to no supervision. 

 

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts and/or advanced degree in environmental science, environmental studies, or similar field.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience as an environmental professional with increasing responsibilities; 5 years of management experience (please be prepared to show previous managerial experience)
  • Knowledge of current environmental regulations including CEQA and NEPA compliance/technical writing. 
  • Program management working experience on high-volume, quick turnaround requests, while producing high quality and accurate products.
  • Demonstrated leadership role managing proposal efforts, contracts, and multiple project efforts simultaneously.
  • Project management experience in the environmental field on a wide range of projects with a variety of clients.
  • Experience working on all aspects of the project including proposal preparation, technical writing, client interactions, and field work (e.g., monitoring, site visits, site assessments).
  • Ability to work on business development and marketing tasks
  • Experience and training in a specialized field such as environmental policy, wildlife biology, etc.
  • Ability to create and manage project/program tracking tools such as MS Excel for tracking spreadsheets.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with diverse groups including field staff, contractors, and clients.
  • Experience/training in using ArcGIS and GPS technologies for large scale biological projects is a plus.

 

Work Environment: 

  • Remote (may require some travel)

 

Salary/Compensation: 

  • $90,000 to $120,000 (depending on experience)
