Overview:
This role will be responsible for maintaining and logging invoices, verifying invoices and charges, reviewing and resolving any invoice discrepancies, and managing and responding to vendor payments and inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Collection, processing, and approval of rail freight bills. Over 50K rail freight bills annually.
- Verify routes, rates, and fuel surcharges are correct.
- Works will all of the Class 1 Railroad and many short-line Railroads to process freight bills.
- Maintains rates, routes, and railroad contracts in BDS (Bourque Data Systems) our logistics software, and maintains other spreadsheets.
- Disputes freight overcharges, files claims, and rebates.
- Reviews/investigates diversions, demurrage, re-consignments, special switches, custom charges, and other accessorial charges.
- Backs up the 'Traffic Specialist' position which generates rail BOL's, tracks and traces railcar shipments, sets up/tender truck shipments, and sets up marine shipments.
- Reviews, approves, and process truck and marine freight bills.
- Supports the Traffic Team as well as Accounting, Sales, and Marketing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma/GED equivalent.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-3 years of Logistics experience
- Microsoft Office applications required.
