Performance Analyst helps the business decide how to allocate funds and continuously improve value per dollar spent. We are looking for highly talented individuals with strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to consistently apply structured approaches to develop short- and long-term performance improvement plan(s).
 
The performance analyst is responsible to collect and interpret data to help the Maintenance and production organizations to take actions to improve performance and develop efficiencies guided by data. This role will require well developed communication skills and an ability to identify issues, analyze data and deliver solutions. The Analyst will be charged to standardize a particular section of execution work processes (defining best practice), simplify their existing process scope (taking out nonvalue adding activity) and align their work processes to align with other execution areas.
 
  • Ability to evaluate data, develop insights, and make process improvement recommendations based on data-with a goal of increasing efficiency and reducing cost.
  • Ability to lead the implementation of improvements initiatives, to streamline and become more efficient across the Maintenance, TA and Project groups
  • Ability to create and manage large and complex spreadsheets
  • Ability to understand end-users needs and translate data for successful execution
  • Must develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and understand the business and the execution work processes
  • May be assigned special projects intended to deliver step change efficiency gains and financial results improvement
  • Provide supporting analysis during the Business Planning cycle and coordinates the quarterly LE packs related to the supporting portfolio
  • Provide support to ensure analysis and variance explanation the impact of key parameters
  • Develops and maintain dashboards with key metrics for stakeholders and leadership
  • Ability to structure data to tell full story on portfolio performance and opportunities to improve cost delivery
  • Curiously analyze and understand the content and spend history of assigned portfolio
  • Clear communication (both written and spoken) skills to present findings and creating fit for purpose reports
  • Ability to find and record important data and to compare and predict financial opportunities
  • Understand the key business drivers and their interrelationships - Reduced Downtime/Increased Production, Operational Excellence, Optimization, Real time Monitoring/Surveillance2. Can independently transfer and manage data, with demonstrable ability to research and resolve data integrity problems (QA and troubleshoot issues with data integrity).
  • Solving complex data quality issues, advanced data manipulation, complex queries between multiple data sources, management of automated data flows and monitors data quality and consistency for data and associated metadata.
  • Implement standard Document and Data Control processes
  • Process and Quality Improvement - Analyze, identify recommend and implement improvements to operate work processes
  • Provide cost challenge and tracking for leading the Maintenance Organization to achieve top quartile performance (Safety, Environment, Reliability and Cost) towards the site's aspirations
  • Responsible for delivering performance reporting and analysis which includes gathering, consolidating data and providing insights into the performance behaviors
  • Manage regular communication and facilitate the quarterly portfolio review with asset owners and discipline managers
  • Build 'Executive Ready' project deliverables
  • Work collaboratively and influence across the organizations to help secure commitment for cross-company initiatives and to ensure accuracy in outer years portfolio.
  • Apply structured problem solving and data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and strategy communications (e.g., senior management, Board, investors)
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive threats and opportunities, expansion opportunities and internal performance
  • Work and lead in a team environment, both within Control Services and with business unit partners/stakeholders
  • Partner with Cost and Schedule team leads to review the monthly forecast
 
Key Challenges:
  • Stakeholder management at multiple levels of the site (Site Executives, Asset Owners, Discipline Managers and Controls)
  • Short Cycle Requests
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Balancing competing priorities within control services and supporting portfolio
  • Responding real time to meet Business Plan when out of plan work occurs by working with asset owners to find offsets
 
Essential Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Engineering Degree is required (Chemical/ Mechanical preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Process Engineering, Strategy, Project Engineering, or support Discipline Engineering
  • Thrives in a team environment, building rapport and influencing peers
  • Effective at driving sophisticated multi-stakeholder processes and cross-team programs to desired results
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and relay to diverse audiences
  • Ability to build effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally and externally at all levels
  • Strategic mindset with demonstrated experience in implementing work processes, structured approaches to problem solving and framework to drive continuous improvement including digital work tool ideas.
  • Experience in Refining or Petrochemical work processes
  • Data Driven and able to interpret data and draw conclusions
  • Responsive and a proven ability to meet timelines
  • Proven project and program execution skills with a strong desire to get results
  • Challenge the organization to think differently, experiment and take acceptable risks
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Able to make people see things from new perspective
  • Skilled in business case development, risk analysis and project economic evaluation
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Power BI)
